Sam Clinton was born in Southampton, England but has lived for many years in Austria with his second wife, Basia. On leaving the Royal Navy’s Fleet Air Arm after seven years’ service, Sam became a technical writer documenting civil aircraft flight control instruments. He has, however, spent most of his working life in hardware and software information development as technical writer, technical editor, information planner, and documentation manager for IBM. Later, he acted as consultant through his own company, which provided various professional computer and language skills to large account clients.

Sam supports English football club Southampton – in an expat sort of way.
